Big Krells Have Vanished From The Used Market

Once upon a time several years ago, you could always find several of the big Krells for sale on Audiogon.  I'm talking the 500-750 wpc big irons.  Now since Krell no longer makes anything bigger than 500 wpc, anyone with the 600, 700, 900 wpc amps are holding on to them because there's nothing new by Krell to replace them with.

I am the happy and content original owner of a Krell FPB 300cx since 2002. Never had a hiccup, blip or any other issue in all this time. About 6 years ago (amp at 15 years old) I hauled it up to Krell in Orange, CT to have the amp re-capped for about $1,000. The tech was as nice and cooperative as could be, took about a month, and when I reinstalled it, it sounder noticeably better than pre-capped. I have reconsidered a replacement amp several times but have not been convinced. I just leave the amp on all the time and works musically when I play music.

This is why you see rare old FPB Krell mega amps for sale. What could replace them? Neal
