Biamp with a multichannel amp?

Has anyone here used a multichannel amp to biamp speakers? How did it turn out? Did it seem to improve the sound when compared to using only one channel per speaker?

Wack a mole!

First, there's no difference between biamping with a stereo amp or with a multichannel amp. If you get (or believe you get) an advantage with biamping, either will do fine.

Second, this topic is discussed ad nauseam here and on every other newsgroup and forum. The question is posted and argued daily. You could look it up.

Third, the positions are polarized with many supporting biamping, even with the original crossovers, and many others pointing out that there are few, if any, practical advantages to bothering.

Fourth, I am in the latter group but, if you have the amps, you can try it for yourself, and make up your own mind.

Frankly, I think that moderators should start deleting posts with topics or bi-wiring and bi-amping along with those about religion and politics.

You may find this page more useful than the above response.

Good call. Let's add questions such as "which IC, speaker cable or power cord should I use in my system" to the list of delete worthy posts.
I suppose if we do that though, we won't have much to discuss.
