Better cd SQ

i too am a vinyl guy. My listening priorities are Vinyl, Qobuz streaming, then CD’s. I have the Marantz CD6007. It is the weakest link in my system, but don’t care (CD’s being by far my lowest priority).
The Marantz does sound SIGNIFICANTLY better with an external DAC. I have a Chord Qutest. I chose it over the Denafrips as space in my rack is at a premium, but either would be solid choices. 

Then I recommend you get a streamer. I went with the Aurender N150, but there are several great choices out there. Good luck. 

One more thing… while others may disagree, and every component choice is important, IMHO I believe your DAC choice will have the largest impact on sound of any digital component. Similar to your cartridge on the vinyl side or speakers on your overall system. Again IMHO.

Im newer to this forum and, higher end audio in general.

I know this is a old thread but Google took me here with my question.

I bought the Schiit Yggdrasil lim last year and have been using its dac for cd's too, and my Marantz cd6007 is now the transport.

I recently got into sacd's and have borrowed a player but now shopping for one since the Yggy doesn't read sacd.

My question is do you guys think or know if the Marantz 30N as a transport will sound any different than the 6007 ?

I believe the specs with disortion and jitter are better on the 30N so maybe thats the answer ? 

I have borrowed a entry-level Esoteric cd player and tried as a transport into the Yggdrasil and there was definitely a difference. 

I actually  liked the Marantz  better even though it is much cheaper.

I borrowed a entry level  old oppo to try for the sacd but it did not sound like the Esoteric for playin sacd's.

I like the signature sound of Marantz for my forward sounding speakers  and can get a 30N  as a transport and use for sacd as well for 1400.

Please no bashing on Marantz.

Just want to know if it should be better than the 6007 even as a transport.
