Im newer to this forum and, higher end audio in general.
I know this is a old thread but Google took me here with my question.
I bought the Schiit Yggdrasil lim last year and have been using its dac for cd's too, and my Marantz cd6007 is now the transport.
I recently got into sacd's and have borrowed a player but now shopping for one since the Yggy doesn't read sacd.
My question is do you guys think or know if the Marantz 30N as a transport will sound any different than the 6007 ?
I believe the specs with disortion and jitter are better on the 30N so maybe thats the answer ?
I have borrowed a entry-level Esoteric cd player and tried as a transport into the Yggdrasil and there was definitely a difference.
I actually liked the Marantz better even though it is much cheaper.
I borrowed a entry level old oppo to try for the sacd but it did not sound like the Esoteric for playin sacd's.
I like the signature sound of Marantz for my forward sounding speakers and can get a 30N as a transport and use for sacd as well for 1400.
Please no bashing on Marantz.
Just want to know if it should be better than the 6007 even as a transport.
