My Jolida amplifier remote control is all metal, weighs about a pound, has four "buttons" that are actually small ball bearings. It also says "remote control" on it. The CD remote is of the same characteristics but weighs more and has three rows of eight ball bearings. The only down side of all this is having to remove four screws and the back covers to replace or check batteries.
