I like all of them, even when his voice is broken totally. The best are the one in his golden years. Nobody sing like him as natural as we speak with no artificiality and no pretense to sing...

He sing like he play. No pretense to demonstrate, but he is lost in feeling...

Thanks for this selection. I could not do better because in the 120 albums i had listened to there is too much to pick for a reason or an other ...

i will add the extraordinary song "around midnight" in the "white blues" album, because the art of speaking with a trumpet , not just playing it well is expressed perfectly... Probably only Miles Davis can rival this with his playing but not with a speaking trumpet as Chet. :
