I have the Kharma speakers, the CE 2's, hope that's close enough to your CE 1's, which I've never heard. I use the Lamm L1 and Lamm M1.1 combo, and I couldn't be happier. I also auditioned the big Atma-Sphere amps, the MA-1 MkII.2's, and I liked them; but I thought the Lamms were a bit more transparent, and the heat thrown off by those Atma amps was ATROCIOUS!! Very clean and open sound though, just like the Lamms. But there is some serious synergy between Lamm and Kharma, so if you can afford it, it's hard to see how you could go wrong there. Some guy had the M1.1 monos and L1 pre for sale on audiogon awhile back, don't know if it's still around but might be worth checking into. Haven't seen any of the other Lamm preamps on the net I'm afraid. Good luck!
