Benchmark AHB2 amp - what speaker connectors are used….

So, complete newbie trying to get my new AHB2 and DAC3 HGC connected to my Totem 1 bookshelf speakers……

I have a pair of Kimber cables with spade connectors and was just about to connect them until I noticed binding posts on the AHB2 seem to only accept a single prong type speaker cable. The binding posts have clear plastic covers covering them, it’s difficult to see but if I can get those covers off they might accept spade connectors - is this the case, and if so, how do you remove those clear plastic covers?

Benchmark support would be the obvious place to ask but it’s the weekend, plus, I can’t call on the phone as I’m in Brazil.

cheers

Yes, YYZ I saw those and might pick a longer pair up to give me more flexibility in my room.

cheers

Imhofifan….great news - thank you!!!

I honestly thought I was out of luck here, looks like I might be listing to some music today!!

thanks again

I got it imhohifiman - I removed the interconnect to get in there and I’m up and running!

You saved me a pair of speaker cables - I owe you a beer!

Imhohififan, just went to try that….loosening the round clear plastic knob will allow me to insert a single prong I know, but it seems I would have to remove the square clear housing to possibly insert a spade connector - did you mean turn the “square” plastic  housing as it seems this can’t turn?

Firstinetallguy I agree, such a help for me and probably would have went out and bought new cables if it weren’t for his explanation and photos, in fact I was still surprised when I felt that spade connector slide in. Turning the amp upside down would have showed that insert point but who would think about doing that?

No imhififan, you were more than helpful - way beyond helpful. Without turning the amp upside down and with the interconnects in the way also I wasn’t expecting to find that insert point and fiddling blindly with my finger didnt expose it. I have music now but that has exposed the fact that I have a lot of work (room treatment etc) to do to get this sounding half decent.

thanks again bro!!
