I decided not to upgrade my VK-D5. I am very happy with the way it sounds today and am not convinced the additional cost will improve the sound enough for me to hear the differences. cheers....
I've owned the VKD5, and now own the D5SE. The 24 bit upgrade looses HDCD decoding, so it is out for me, though Viktor says the implementation is good enough that it closed the gap between HDCD and redbook, and perhaps it is so! I personally am happy with my VKD5SE in it's current state.
