Back On the Topic of Driving 3.6's

I know that this one has been kicked around a bit too much, but given these choices (and ignoring cost for now) which is the best overall candidate for driving a pair of Magnepan 3.6's in a large room? Current PreAmp is a Hovland HP-100 (all tube line & phono).

Cary 500MB

Pass Labs XA100.5

Pass Labs XA60.5

Pass Labs X350.5

I use a McCormack DNA-500, but I can assure you a X350.5 will put a charge in the 3.6's, for sure...The more current, the more you will get out of them.

I've tried McIntosh stuff and to my ears you can do better, no slight to Mac who makes great stuff.

Good luck to you....Enjoy

Having owned them-the most power you can get The bass does not come alive without the power. Maggies are wonderful with power!!!!!!!!!!
Power? Watts or Current? 1000 watts from a Cary 500MB or huge current and a 100 watts pure class A from a Pass XA100.5?
