I have an Ayre V1 that I thought was operating below expectation. I sent it to Ayre who did a few things (maybe 1000 dollars or so) which rejuvenated it to be used another 10 years or so. ..among other things, they put a tape on the cooling fins.....I guess to prevent ringing.
Ayre V-3 Audio Improvements
Purchased my V-3 over 20 years ago. It has lost it's "sonic punch". I have schematics for the unit.
Does anyone have instructions for adjusting the variable resistors (VR1 thru VR6) to improve the "sonic punch".
Also, I have heard replacing some of the caps will also help. Cap part numbers range from C1 thru C18. Which caps have the greatest impact?
Thanks for any advice/information.
