Avantgarde Solo ... opinions?

Recently I've been intrigued by the Avantgarde Solo speakers. They seem like a compact way to achieve a large soundstage. Does anyone who has heard them care to give their thought on these unique speakers? How is their transparency/resolution in comparison to a high end studio monitor? How is their impulse response and damping factor? Is the midrange lacking detail due to being a 2 way design?
To give an idea of my taste, I'd say I love the extreme detail of ATCs (SCM series), but I also like the dynamics of the JBL 4430's. However, the JBLs unfortunately did not resolve anywhere near the amount of information as the ATCs (especially in the midrange). Could the Solos be a happy medium between the two?
