Audioquest Water interconnects

I’m considering upgrading my interconnect cables to Audioquest Water.  I’d be grateful for input. My system is Krell KAV 250 amp, Audio Research SP 9 preamp, Innuous Pulse streamer, Harbeth Compact 7 speakers, REL subwoofer and Audioquest CV 8 speaker cables.

They’re good sounding cables. As other commented, I hate the stiffness, and the nylon fibers in the sheath look pretty, but especially the XLR connectors have a tendency to lose grip on the tube over time (if you swap cables like I do) and they will eventually need re-termination.

The Columbia and Jaguar are older versions of Water - they’re more pliable and have a softer braid which I prefer. And cheaper on the used market. Colorado is also excellent (it's the older Earth). The main difference is Water has more layers of shielding, which may in fact cause it to sound a bit brighter "more detailed" - but hard to say if that’s a genuine improvement or an aberration.

If you really want more detail - real detail - then you need to look at their silver ICs. Their current line makes silver way too expensive. Look to the older lines. They also made a trend of adding more and more shielding in the later lines which again - not sure I like that.
