I saw a review on Audioholics where he found the DBS added capacitance to the circuit, so it is doing something measurable. While most would not want to add capacitance, it could, in certain cases, alter the frequency response. In theory at least.
Audioquest Power Cords
Hi I was just giving an example of any quality cable manufacturer will work fine MonoPrice, Amazon, some of the entry levels types from any brand will work as long as the cables in question follow design guidelines and not ridiculous statements like our cables reduced noise and distortion which is nonsense THERE WAS A STATEMENT YEARS AGO “An Educated Customer is our best Customer “ Any AudioPhile that believes in purchasing cables that are extremely expensive and have pseudoscience with Snake Oil Marketing is welcome to enjoy there purchase as in there mind they feel more secure believing all the hype

Hi I am a retired ABC TV Video/Audio engineer of 34 years, AudioQuest as a Cable Manufacturer has brilliant marketing department with descriptions of there products and how they reduce noise and distortions 1-The DBS 72 VDC system is just a marketing ploy, SNAKE OIL 2-Power Cords…only need to be low enough gauge for the equipment connected to 12-10awg is fine..SNAKE OIL not pretty and come in $100 mahogany case LOL 3-HDMI 2.1 cable that are certified will work up to 15ft…no difference from a $12 cable to over $1,000 cable spending more is just foolish waste of money no difference 4-USB Cable as long as the USB Cable used has certified specifications a $10-25 cable will work fine…using a USB over this amount is again waste of money…SNAKE OIL marketing ploy 5-75 ohm Coaxial Digital Cable a $5 cable will work jus fine hear too…USE CINNAMON FOR BREAKFAST PANCAKES not for a cable $100 just silly 6-TOSLINK CABLE (OPTICAL AUDIO) S/PDIF again a properly designed cable at costing $10-15 with work just fine…spending more from Manufacturers that state there TOSLINK is superior is totally misleading…SNAKE OIL PLOY 7-RCA (single ended connection) any well designed low capacitance cable will work fine here also…most of the differences heard changing cables has to do with metal used (copper or silver) never used silver copper clad types and impedance of the cable…high capacitance will have reduced high frequency energy 7a-Balanced XLR Cables low capacitance well made copper cable will work here also…putting a 72vdc on a $5000 cable is just again brilliant marketing ploy SNAKE OIL 8-LOUDSPEAKER CABLES low resistance low inductance is required for a proper working design how it is made using braided or flat on top is good practice 9-POWER CONDITIONERS and REGENERATORS are not needed waste of money most of these don’t even address the power line issues just look fancy To make a proper AC Filter would require a large inductor or transformer along with capacitors to start the filtering at 120hz not 5khz like some others that do absolutely nothing to improve the final output at the amp to loudspeakers output AUDIOQUEST and many other cable manufacturers are making MILLIONS of Dollars of the uneducated AudioPhiles…selling unproven claims that science can prove that are marketing ploys and thus considered SNAKE OIL DOES NOT WORK IF SOME NEEDS ANY TYPE OF CABLE JUST GO TO BLUE JEANS CABLE and purchase the cable for your needs no reason to purchase a cable that cost more than Armani Suit AUDIOPHILES spend your hard earned dollars on quality equipment not SNAKE OIL

I watched it means zip, you can hear it! It's not hard to either. I can disable the DBS on the speaker wires and interconnects and the sound goes from really good to poor, on the power cords I like it disabled because I get more body and warmth and less upfront sounding but enable the music to pop more and that is a fact, just not my cup of tea. On the cables it is a no-brainer it is that good. Others might like the power cords with the DBS enabled, my point was just to try them without the DBS. |
Here is additional information about AudioQuest DBS cables. If they improve the sound in your system then great, that is all that counts! https://youtu.be/dLghg0QXPzs |
