I am sincerely sorrowful at your loss
. And ours. Larry was indeed a special type.
Larry reached out to me one day pursuing a power cord I had for sale at the time. He bought it and said he enjoyed it immensely thereafter.
We struck a resonant cord apart from mere audio endeavors and a friendship developed. He preferred to speak by phone and we did countless times. Swapping stories, laughing at ourselves and one another, as well as life itself.
Larry mentioned his history in vague terms, never dropping names or the like. It is most evident now just how much of a gentleman, how humble and sincere a man he truly was and it adds to the impact of his passing.
.
Larry was instrumental in helping me thru similar issues which ultimately proved to be unsubstantiated and the results of a poor professional diagnosis. For I too had been diagnosed as having the same cancer a couple years ago.
For those few months we spent many times talking about life and audio in general and I must say Larry always provided me a differing and valued perspective as cases were then. I looked forward to talking with Larry and it was always an uplifting experience.
I thought about Larry as recently as today, that I should touch bases with him again to see how he is doing, not knowing of the battle to which he was then enlisted. It is a great shock to hear of someone you felt close to, regardless the method in which it is conveyed.
Im not so sure the true measure of a man is found out on any financial balance sheet. Waht he has done, who he knows, or whare he has been. I believe it is more accurately realized by his contributions to his family and to those he met along his way and how each was affected by him. his affect on me was a most positive one.
I know not how others were so affected, and know only my own circumstances with Larry, and I am grateful to have made his aquaintenance, enjoyed his friendship, and aided by his wisdom and inner strengths. For all that I am so sorry to hear this woeful news, and yet I am so truly grateful that God allowed me to meet up with him, for ever how brief a time.
It was our turn with Larry for some time
Now its Gods turn.
Fare well Larry and thanks... thanks a lot.
