Audio Note Cobra and Cambridge Audio MXN10

Hello,

I recently purchased a Cambridge Audio MXN10 streamer/DAC to connect to my Audio Note Cobra. I was hoping to use the MXN10 to stream and use the built in DAC on the Cobra. Unfortunately, when I connect via Coax or USB I get no sound.
When I connect via the analog outputs it works fine. Has anyone had this issue? Suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Thank you all for your input. That's what I was thinking the issue was as well but wanted to check to make sure. I will reach out to CA and see if there are any options. In the meantime is there a streamer that you could recommend for less than $400 that is known to work with the Cobra?

Yes, I just checked the Cobra specs and over usb it won’t accept anything over 16/48.

What bit depth are you sending to the dac in the Cobra? That’s a 16 bit chip with either a 44.1 or 48 ceiling.

I am unfamiliar with the Cobra but from your description I assume that it’s an integrated amp with a DAC. My first suggestion would be to try to connect another digital input to the Cobra, such as a CD player or transport, or. cell phone with an appropriate digital cable, and see if that works. If so then you know that the issue is the digital interface with the CA and the Cobra.

Make sure you have the most recent updates on the amp and the streamer and your operating system on whatever device you are controlling them with (Android, Apple, etc). My CA CXN 100 was recently torpedoed by an Apple iOS update and the issue resolved when I updated the iPhone.

Check the CA Help tab on the Stream Magic app and ensure that your device is included in the list of compatible components. If it isn’t mentioned then email CA via the app. Also check all the settings on the Cobra.

Have you tried all the possible digital connections between the CA and the Cobra?
