Hi All, I have have been keeping up with this site. I was on the fence with many Preamps (Tube), ended up with TP 2.0nB had issue with slight hum, but Joseph was on top of it all the way, I even received a call from him on Sunday to my surprise! The hum is temporarily taken care of soon to be a permanent fix. I will post my final audition thoughts after proper burn-in time so far very happy with sound!!!
Question for those proud owners of TP 2.0, mine came without any type of chassis ground setup, just a pre-fab whole. Wondering if was the same for anyone else.
Sherod, I do not have a hum any longer after looping a ground. The chassis ground i am talking about is marked on the rear panel next to Balanced in. When looking at picture posted by the advertisers Joseph and Victor you will notice some sort of POC.
Yes, I've been listening every chance i get. I have a McCormack DNA- 500 solid state amp, and wanted a taste of the tube sound, so far considering burn in time it is blending very well, i recently installed 4 Herbie Peek Dampers seemed to improve overall. The sound i am getting is Musical and Lively with nice texture, i continue to be play and play! Doubtful of 30 Day offer, and likely to upgrade tubes you know how that goes!
Gammajo. I fill is very accurate with his description of our AH. The more I listen whether to relax, or to listen critically. I realise how much more natural all instruments are coming across including placement of the performers. I listen to Vinyl most of the time, but with the recent purchase of my AH, I have been playing CD's quite often and find these qualities to shine through both. I also come from a SS Preamp, one obvious difference was the liveliness of the music, everything seems to be played in front of you as opposed to listening to the acoustics of the studio which I have found in some systems nice, but not for me.
Now that my TP 2.0nB is a permanent piece, I am wondering anybody have first hand comparison too Joseph's Dimension interconnect and Cardas Golden Reference. I have the Cardas and like it's signature sound, I need one more set of cables for my CD side, and I'm curious about Joseph's. I'm so pleased with his Preamp I'd be willing to try his cables!
Hi fellow TP owners, I've been hung up on the subject of Reverse Polarity. I came across the subject on the soundstage site. It was written revering speaker leads for reversal will change the flow directions and will also affect resisters caps and so on here is the link for interest it's very informative!http://www.soundstage.com/maxdb/maxdb101999.htm
Hey TP owners, I have about $400. burning my pockets, and I'm interested in upgrading my stock EH tubes. I have no first hand knowledge or experience with tube rolling. I have read to replace 1&3 being most critical even unsure what 1&3 are, assuming looking from left to right. Looking for any, and all recommendations for future upgrading, needless to say still very pleased with the purchase of my TP 2.0n output XLR upgrade only. Here is my gear list.
AMP- McCormack DNA-500
DVD/CD- McCormack UDP-1
Turntable- VPI Scoutmaster / Ring/clamp/ISO Plat/SDS.
Phono Stage- MusicalSurroundings
Speakers- Dynaudio C1
Cabling- Cardas/Synergistic Research
Myrtlewood under TP&CD player
NO Acoustic treatment in room ???
Hi all, I'm very close to deciding to go with the upgrade for my TP 2.0nb. Anyone come away with definite positive results with consideration to having 2 ways, I have Dynaudio C-1, at this point everything is musical, and lively with hopes of no loss of midrange as I've read here. Appreciate chimes!
Hi all, scrolling through 6moon's site. It appears the
Tp 8.0 MC is coming up for review. I am very close to a purchase of Joseph's phonostage anyone have first hand or ears experience with any of his Tp 8.0. I have much respect for Joseph and his team!
Jojo about 70+ hours in on upgrade, absolutely no regret everything across the board sounding clearer, defined and even more refined. Must admit several changes as of recent besides standard upgrade 1 similar 6H30 set up as i think you ended up with, changed my musical surroundings Phonomena phonostage for Joseph's TP 8.0MN, also to a major surprise to me i auditioned cables from Joseph, and ended up replacing various Cardas Golden and Neutral Ref's even an Audience 24u interconnect. When auditioned side by side it was immediately apparent which cables to keep. I dropped off Joseph's cables at my brother in laws place, he has spent $1000,s in meter sets and was taken back as to how refined these cables are. Anyways if there is anyone on the fence for the upgrade here's one more write up to consider!
