@lalitk
I took a look at your system and see you have spent some time assembling a pretty amazing music maker.
If you don't mind, I'd like to hear about your experiences with Audio Envy. The pricing is quite reasonable and it would appear with gear of the quality you have you would have tried other cable by more well known makers at much higher pricing yet you use Audio Envy. If you'd share what different Audio Envy cables you've used and what you heard over the other cables that AE has replaced, that'd be really helpful.

Any updates yet? Very curious the difference between the AE power cord and the TWL Obsession power cord. I’ve been thinking about these two PCs. |
@docroasty
I appreciate the update. I know your predicament. I waited two full months for a Paul Hynes SR4T linear power supply to power my EtherREGEN - it arrived a week ago. It was worth the wait! |
@docroasty
Will be interested to hear about your audiosensibility dc cables. I purchased the silver dc cable from Paul Hynes but have no experience with any other dc cables. You can IM me so we don't go off topic on this Audio Envy thread.
I do plan to buy a couple of AE power cords soon. |
Received my first order - one P2 Ocean PC and one Mega M3 (grounded) PC. They arrived yesterday in pristine condition and appear to have outstanding build quality. I plugged them both into the wall in my office to start the burnin process. I had a chance today to put the M3 on my power amp straight to the wall, it had been plugged into the wall in my office for 22 hours. The M3 sounded good right out of the packaged but I'll reserve judgement until I get a week or two of burnin on it. |
@lalitk
I’ve had my two Audio Envy power cords since 12/11/20. I have one M3 and one P2. I put the M3 on my power amp and after burn in it was a very amazing bump in sound quality. Put the "other" cord back in for a week and only just missed the M3. So the M3 is back in and not going anywhere. After allowing some days for the M3 to settle back into the system, I put the P2 in 12/26/20 and long story short, after a week of burn in, it was also better than the PC it replaced. Both of the replaced cords are many times more expensive, yet, as has been stated in this thread, the AE power cables are really a bargain, batting way above their pricing.
In the end, I like them so much I will be calling next week to purchase more power cords. After that I’ll work on interconnects and speaker cable.
@docroasty
Just wondering if you’ve received your TWL Obsession PC and how it compares to AE power cords and also if you received the Audiosensibilities power leads? Eager to hear your impressions.
Happy New Year all.

@docroasty
I appreciate the update. I've been waiting to hear more about the TWL Obsession power cords. Seems I've never read a bad thing about them. May still try one someday.
FYI, the Audio Envy power cords needed around 4-5 days to burn in and open up in my system. They were OK just after insertion, but really needed time to show their best, especially the P2 power cord.
BTW, didn't you say you bought some Audiosensibilities power leads for your linear power supply? What did you think of those? |
@docroasty
Thanks for the explanation. I'm curious since the Obsession did not work on your DAC, on what component do you like it?

@strayngs
You could email Captain and ask if he would cut them down and re-terminate them for you. That may be the better bet. |
I've had an Expanded for a few months and I'm getting the same results as well.
|
@lalitk
I've noticed that PD before. Looks like a great piece.
I sent you over more info on AE that may be helpful. In the end, I'd probably ask Cap about the correct pairing of power cord for the PD. Later

@nutty
Your comments make me want to try the SP14s. The SP12s were better than Heimdall 2s, so I can only imagine what the SP14s can do.

@samureyex
I have a number of AE power cords and they are all better than several major brand name cords I've used in the past. I haven't tried the newest Expanded PC with the upgraded ground, but I've just had such good sound with the regular Expanded, P3, & P2 that I've not made any changes. I may just replace the P2 & 3 with Expanded next year but for now I'll just listen to music.

@samureyex
If you are looking for a power cord that makes what you are hearing sound more like real music, then yes, any AE power cord will be better than a $50 entry level power cord. In my experience, any AE power cord I tried was better than power cords that I had at the time that were from $1k to $2.6k.
