ATC SCM v3 - First impressions.......
@fivestringsdown Thanks for your thoughts on the SCM7's, I'm considering these with my Naim Nait XS2. Your thoughts have definitely encouraged me to audtion. Really happy you're enjoying them. Happy Listening 👍 |
I just look at the logic of kenjit. They use a Strawman fallacy. Everything else is built upon that. So for me, everything else they say gets dumped in the trash. This is why a full education is so valuable. Training and full intellectual integration, and not merely “knowledge of” logic. I don’t understand how you all can even entertain their pure negativity. And @kenjit i recommend getting some ATCs. In the grand scheme $5000 isn’t even enough for a good vacation. If you don’t like them, they hold value and you can sell easily. Some here recommend the self amplification models, but I love to tinker. Spend another 20 30 Gs and get a few different amps. All different types. Try bi-amping. See what works in your space. Oh, also don’t skimp on the stands. Have some fun in life and spend that hard earned cash. You can’t take it with you. I have some big fancy KEFs in the living room. It’s like a barn with no thought of acoustics. But ATCs for my listening room. And Brad is 100 percent right about the drivers being the star of the show. Brad, in real life, is good knowledgeable people. I’m anonymous here, but he has seen to my business with grace, so his opinion has real meaning in an online world. |
Know not the @kenjit. @kenjit geometrically challenged. ATC SCM 7 V3 is not a square box. Mine fit into a modest casita system on 32" massed stands with a Naim Atom driving them. Source is an iPod in a Luxman dock. They are assisted by a JL Audio D 108 sub. System is quite musical with respectable dynamics and imaging. One of three house systems. The other two systems are built around much larger ATC active and passive. And they do sound wondrous. |
