Are the TNT6,Scout etc platters same diameter as 5

Toying with idea of trying to lathe a notch into a TNT5 platter to fit clamp.Want mass but $2K is to much for HRX platter for me to swing.No sure it can be done (cutting into platter without it disintegrating) but have spare TNT5 and was thinking of putting it onto Scout/Scoutmaster.
Just not sure if diameter of platters is same.Any ideas?

The platter/bearing for the TNT is $ 1,200. you can go to your dealer and ask for some kind of discount then you can sell your old platter/bearing. This way it won't hurt so much but the satisfaction is worth all that!!!!!! IMHO

The platter of the TNT5 is 11.5" in diameter and the newer platters with an indentation is slightly larger to accomodate the ring. Slicing a portion of your platter will make it worse what you need to do if you can is to fabricate an extension like the Clearaudio LOCATOR but it is expensive to fabricate. You would be better off buying the new platter. FYI, the LOCATOR won't fit into VPI platters. Clearaudio platters are 295mm
