I have just purchased an AR XA turntable with the original tone arm. I would like to mount my Shure V15VxMR cartridge in this setup up until I purchase a new arm. I would appreciate any input.
That was my first TT 36 year ago and I ran a Shure M91ED which was very similar, compliance & tracking, to a V15. I agree with Dopogue that it should work fine however, the arm really is pretty basic.
It should work fine. A friend is using a Stanton 881S in his and it sounds a bunch better than his Basis 1400/Rega arm combo with a (non-woodie) Grado. That's a great little turntable. Dave
