Aqua LaScala MkII NUC question

Has anyone used Ethernet to the Aqua LaScala’s I2S connection? Did it work? Better than USB still? I know I2S protocols are different. And I know that the pin outs on the connections are different. But seems I’ve read that it may work anyway. Trying to get conformation. Thanks for your input.

My understanding has always been than it only works with the La Diva transport and their streamer.  Might be able to use it with other RJ45 based gear if you had a specialty cable made matching the pin outs on both ends.  Several people have done that for the Jays Audio CDT3 Mk3.  Reach out to Cristian at Aqua directly and see what he says.  Other than the I2S connection between their gear their preferred connection is AES and not USB.  How I have always used my La Voce S3.

It’s a MKiii actually. I thought by the specs it was I2s or USB. But your saying AES even though it has lower resolution? Interesting

Their own streamer the LinQ doesn't have the option of USB.  Their output options are single and dual AES, SPDIF and their proprietary RJ45 connection I2S.  With the La Voce S3 the AES was to me the clearly better sounding input and as I don't do DSD it suited me fine but it will do DSD64 via AES if you need it.

we are an aqua dealer and got great sound using  usb from our dedicated server

our servers isolate the clock and usb so they send a pristine signal to the dac
