My advice is to go see John Rutan at Audio Connection in Verona, NJ.  He has Vandersteen, Fyne, Proac, ATC and Magnepan.  Great showroom and John is just a great guy. His team is also very good.  Just go listen to music and hang out.  Worth the trip.  

Also, go see Larry Borden at Distinctive Stereo in River Vale, NJ.  Great listening room with Genesis speakers by Gary Koh.  Sounds fantastic.  Also carries Canton and German Physiks.  Larry is another great guy in this industry.

i would also go to Resolution Audio in NYC.  They carry Devore, Rockport and other high end brands.

+1 to the below. I don’t have experience with any $30k speakers, but Audio Connection is my local Hifi shop, and John Rutan & crew have always taken care of me.  Just recently purchased and had audio connection install a new Hana MC cart for me and am loving it! 

John is a super nice guy and very knowledgeable, great hang!
