Anyone upgraded from DV 20XL to DV XX2 Mk2?

Will the XX2 sound much the same as 20XL except with more detail, speed and bass extension? Did you find it necessary to change the preamp loading to maintain the same essential balance/tonal rendering? (unable to change from 150 ohm load on my phono preamp)
