Anyone running a solid state preamp and tube amp?

I have a VERY nice SMC-modded McCormack ALD-1 preamp (basically a completely rebuilt preamp internally, best I have yet heard in my system) and was considering pairing it with a tube amp to switch up with my DNA-125 (also SMC modded) amp. Any considerations? I love how transparent and muscial the preamp is, and would love to see what a slightly richer tube amp sound would do to the system.

Any experiences running a nice SS preamp with a tube amp? If so, how did it work out? It has been awhile since I have had a tube amp in my system, instead of the DNA-125, so I don't really know what to expect.

Newbee,

Thanks for the link. Some helpful info there. I will give it a try for sure.
I love running a solid state pre with tube amps. I know that my pre is very clean which allows me to "amp roll" without having any side effects from the pre. Tubes going into tubes can add extra noise/sound to the mix.
