Anyone heard the new Mofi V10 Master Edition at Axpona?

This was easily one of the best in show...

@mapman , I got sick and left early, couldn’t go back the next day to bother him with questions.

This is the closest to a tad reference (which I had for almost 15 years) he’s gotten to yet, i think, in many regards. But, I believe it has some variant of the Elac Adante style bass radiators, don't know the exact details or intent.

The TAD probably has a bit more soundstage sprawl, but, this one hits like a mack truck, more muscular, if needed.

i don’t know the intended pricing, but, has to still be a fraction of the tad’s price.

Well, when the guy released a speaker some years ago, it was winning EISA awards over other speakers that were priced at magnitudes more.

Hence, when he releases speakers, guys like me might pay a lil attention. Sorry to hear if you feel like some brand you’re a "fan" of perhaps or represent didn’t get "worshipped" (as you say) too much.

It’s not the end of the world, don’t worry so much.

As far as the Borresen goes, the correct speaker in that lineup was the X6, it needed twice those small drivers and cabinet volume, Borresen didn't defy any physics...still needs bass management and subs, for sure, .but, folks were buying the x3 because it was more affordable.

The worship for MoFi speakers is ridiculous. Just another speaker that is competitive at it’s price point. What happened to X3 worship? A poor YouTube review?

It is not about just checking off some speaker design line items. This may be the first instance of an engineer of his caliber getting connected in the chain to the mastering apparatus (artist intent, etc), for example, have a better assessment on how the voicing should be done and so on. I believe he has gotten into it in some interviews.

Previously, it would be that some guys at Yamaha would say....hey, here’s how our instruments sound and this is how our current flagship speaker sounds...decide for yourself.

PS audio might be another new example with octave studios, etc.

Nevertheless, such scenarios have been quite rare in hifi and the more it happens, the better for the hifi consumer, I would say.

i am sure some competitor associated personnel would attempt some mud slinging...let their own insecurities shine through from time to time, such is life

Hmm I think you get a lot of very good speaker for the price in general with Mofi.

Size matters with speakers.   The more of a good thing the better in general.

Also a sourcepoint matters when it comes to coherency of sound.

Mofi gives you both that many others do not.  That’s a fairly unique combo in my mind.

@dayglow  what speakers do you have? What's your setup like? Are you too shy to tell anyone about it?

Don't worry and tell us about this high pedestal of yours, i'll be nice. I won't laugh all the way to China town, I promise.

@kofibaffour Thx for taking time to reply. I have never recommended or praised the Borresen X line of loudspeakers, review several of my previous posts regarding the X3. My point was hype convinced many here on Agon what a giant killer the X3 was even with some not even hearing the X3. Then a measurement reviewer points out how flawed the speaker is and even the most pompous fanboys are silent. I have not heard the new coffin sized MoFi offering but the others 888/10 and 8 have not impressed me to any level of praise

Don’t feed this troll. He’s bringing up another speaker from an entirely different manufacturer on this thread for what reason again? no clue....am starting to wonder what the hell  it is that he personally "worships"....what miracle box it is or crap box it is might be an easy assessment if he told us what he has....

There’s a whole lot of praise for the mofi 888 from a measurement guy here (not that i care).

and this new speaker isn’t even sold yet, how the heck would it ever get measured yet....

So people who had praised the speaker before have been silent since some measurement reviewer pointed out how flawed the speaker is? Really? A ’measurement reviewer’ can get people to not listen to what their ears and brains are telling them and to listen to the reviewer’s conclusions instead? That’s a seriously influential reviewer!
