Anyone heard/own the North Creek Big Kats?

Have much enjoyed the smaller North Creek Eska for several years, wondering about moving to the larger Big Kat for more in the lows. George Short of NC doesn't know of any pairs proximate to me in St. Louis, and NC doesn't have a dealer network. I'd like to hear from anyone with experience of this model.

Thx,

John

John,

I can't help you, as I am not familiar with the other options you cite. I bought the Eskas on spec years ago (because I needed a near-wall loudspeaker and read enough about the Vifa woofer to be willing to take a chance). The step up to the Big Kat was easier because trust was gained already.

Good luck on your quest.

Thanks Nathan! That's very helpful. Did you compare anything else? I'm now also thinking of Selah, Salk, Legacy, Daedalus, and Gallo.

John,

I enjoyed the Eskas for many years, and just this year replaced them with Big Kats. I made the switch to obtain more presence in the bottom half octave, and I can tell you with certainty that the Big Kats are full-range, as well as being absolutely wonderful. :-) I love them.

I bought both kits without prior audition and (obviously) have no regrets.

Hi Lake513. Nice system!! :) If I go for the Norths (I'm also considering Salk, Selah, Legacy, and a few others), I'll have Lee Tatlor build the boxes; he did a lovely job on my Eskas. I notice you have a pretty large room and lots of breathing space for your Manifests. I can go at most about 32" from front baffle to the front wall; should I stay away from George's "free field" designs?

John
Hi i own the Manifest speaker from North Creek and I love them . I think George makes great speakers i would say you could do a lot worse and for the money you will get a very good speaker. Are you going to make the cabinets yourself or have them made ?
