I have no hum but... I am having a problem with the built in amp in one of the speakers kicking off and on during complex/heavy bass sections in music. Am changing tubes currently in my mono blocks to see if this helps. Does anyone else have this occur to them?
Tony,I keep my bass amp setting at high noon but of course the bass volume setting is room and system dependent...clipping means distorting from overload....if the amp is shutting down during real complex passages and loudly played that sounds like clipping and the protection circuit kicks in to protect the gear.Check out my system photo...speakers 10 feet apart, and 4 feet from front wall (distance to rear of speaker). So did you get to fix the bass amp problem? It does sound like it's clipping. The only way to stop it from clipping, in my opinion, is for you to lower the volume. Gosh, at what db do you listen at? Do you rock the house?
Yes I did get this fixed. May be a bit beyond me to explain as I a not technical but I added some homemade bass traps and I suppose it changed the pressure in the room because it made the clipping go away. I LOVE these speakers. Just read they are dropping them from the line- too bad. Glad I have these.
