This has been a lingering problem for more than a year.
There have been tons of supply chain disruptions that are making lead times extremely long. Everything is an issue, not just chips. I just had an unexpected delay of three weeks for a customer because of the mfg was waiting for the chassis to be anodized.
I have some manufacturers that are at a 3-4 month delay for anything ordered with a chip and god help you if it is coming in via sea freight. Normal time on the water is still 45 days from Europe but had a six week delay because the manufacturer couldn't get their container on a boat. And another two weeks trying to get it out of the port as it took forever for the boat to be unloaded.
My only suggestion is be patient. If someone quotes you a month and it takes two...that is sadly to be expected.
