I too get 5.1 Dolby Digital from DirecTV using HDMI. You may need to go to the audio section of the setup menu and select it.

Anyone getting Dolby Digital 5.1 on DirecTV?
When I tune into a movie or station on DirecTV and the station reads that the program is in Dolby Digital....what does that mean? Is it 2.0, 5.1 or what? My processor reads that it is playing in Dolby Digital but only the two main front speakers are active? Should I be getting 5.1?
