His new CD I'm a Bluesman is great check it out. I have caught him many times but my favorite concert would have been in San Bernadino when The Shuggie Otis band opened then Humble Pie and then Johnny Winter. This was the year Johnny Winter live was released and just before his heroin addiction kicked in. Great show he has a presence about him. Tommy Shannon the bass player that went on to Double Trouble is to me one of the best bass players out there.
anyone catch johnny and edgar winter in beaumont ?
i saw an incredible johnny winter show last night. he was frail,playing while sitting in a chair but he was scorching! playing with a crackerjack band he powered through 10 songs with a finale on slide guitar that rivaled anyone anywhere.nice to see him alive and kicking at 61. would have loved to see edgar/johnny collaboration!
