"The stories she must have while growing up on a tree farm…priceless, aewarden. Absolutely priceless."

Never realized tree farms were such a hotbed of excitement...

"Even worse who looked at crawfish and thought "now those look like a delicious meal...! They live in mud for god sakes!!!"

Actually, crawfish live in fresh water, and prefer running water such as streams and rivers. The do not live in mud.

@asvjerry ,

Don't forget when the pinecones go up, jerry.

Like a tiny, self-contained Fourth of July!

Zydeco band playing as you spread’em out on the newspaper, twist off the tails, pinch that meat out into your mouth hole, then suck the head!

And of course a red Solo cup full of cheap draught beer to wash’em down!

Hawwwwwww!!!

Don’t forget the potatoes and corn on the cob boiled up with them in that Zatarains or Old Bay! And as you stated, those fresh gulf shrimp, fried gator tail nuggets on the side, maybe a bowl of gumbo with plenty of fresh okra, good friends and conversation. That makes for a good day. Never heard of eating that part of the alligator.

" Laizzes bontemps roulle!"

Not all night long, but for the afternoon anyway!

I do like finding common ground.

@acresverde ,

Yes, fresh water swamps and marshes, but not physically in the mud. In other parts of the country (farther north) water flows more rapidly than in the south, as I am sure you know, and that is where our crawfish reside.

Odd expression 'mud bugs'. They don't live in the mud and they're not bugs.

It's like calling a cow a desert marsupial.

Ah, the lamentations of our youth.

We've all got a memory or two of that. Chock full of testosterone and imagination.

Ah!

I stand corrected. They make burrows in the mud during summer mating season.

I still demand partial credit!!
