I've owned mine for over ten years (so long I can't remember when I bought it...) and recommend it for front-end applications. It's not that harty, however, as it blew its fuse when I connected my: Sony 9000-ES SACD + ARC LS-8 preamp + Audio Artistry Dvorak electronic crossover. I don't know what wattage this adds up to, sorry.
It's best to turn off/unplug things before restarting from a tripped circuit breaker of fuse.
