@Jasonism, In the case of your Esoteric player, because it is a well built solid state player, I wouldn’t see any issue with leaving it on 24/7. Though I’d suggest checking the manual to see if you can switch the display off. You don’t want to have to bring your player in prematurely to replace an led or diode in the display. If it was a tubed CD player, leaving on the player 24/7 would be unadvisable.
The only caveats are you should have robust surge/spike/over-voltage protection upstream of your system. Clipsal, Carling Technologies and other companies provide good domestic solutions. Some power conditioners such as Gigawatt also incorporate surge and over-voltage protection. The other caveat is, If you leave your player on all the time, make sure you turn the player off (incl: mains power) before jiggling or removing the power cable to your player (and I know from whence I speak).
