Hey everyone,
At first, because I wasn’t sure that my Rogue M180 mono amplifiers were not balanced at the outputs, I was using the low-level inputs to my pair of REL S/510. I didn’t want to blow up my amps! Sounded very good.
Once I finally took a chance and hooked up the high-level connector wires that were included with the subwoofers, it brought the overall musical experience (I’m a 2-channel guy) to another level.
I then for purchased a pair of Analysis Plus REL connector cables from The Cable Company. I knew that the originally included wires were way longer than I wanted them to be, but I did not want to cut them in case I ended up selling the subwoofers at some point. Also, the original wires are not high-quality and I thought I could improve on the sound with an upgrade. While I was auditioning these, I was reminded of signal audio, a company which I had purchased products from the past. I’ve always loved Frank’s speaker and interconnect cables. One of the forum posters recommended that I give Frank’s REL cables a try, so I purchased these, knowing that both sets of cables had a 30 day moneyback guarantee.
After hours of auditioning each set of cables, giving them each at least 100 hours of break in time, I returned the analysis plus cables. Frank’s are just better in every way. Deeper and yet more articulate bass, more three-dimensional space to the soundstage, and all the stuff that REL subwoofers are known for.
As they say, your mileage may vary, but I am a big fan of the Signal Audio REL Speakon Cables and give them my highest recommendation!
