Anvil Turntable comparison

Hey all,

Anyone here have a chance to compare an Anvil turntable with a VPI Scout or Classic? The Fremer review on the Anvil table caught my eye. I like the design behind it and am a fan of heavy mass tables. But am wondering if it would sound that different from a VPI Classic, which I'm currently using. I might try the 30-day trial period for a new Anvil, but wanted to see if anyone has experience with it yet or has been able to hear how it sounds compared to VPI.

Just saw this. My usual advice is to compare my turntable to those in the 5 figure range.

I don't want to sound like an Anvil yes man all the time but I can share some second hand insight.  A good friend of mine had a VPI classic with an Ortofon 2M Black going into his BAT integrated and Thiel 3.7's.  He was visiting my place and was very impressed with the sound I was getting out of my system with the Anvil/Audiomods/Lyra Delos.  I know, totally different systems/rooms etc.
I think both tables are excellent but I can say that the Anvil has allowed me to hear improvements as I have changed arms and cartridges over the years suggesting that it does really get out of the way, no added noise, great speed stability and compact size.

Anyway, hoping other Anvil owners pipe in.
