Advice on B&W 800D Vs Diamond

Looking to get B&W 800 series speakers for my family room & love more of the older B&W design look (thinking of avoiding Nautilus and sticking with Diamond tweeter).

Any experience what would be the hearing differences between 800D or the 800Diamond (800D2) speakers and what would folks who owned these previously recommend and why ?

Setup will be for a 2 channel system in family room.

Just came across this old thread, so not sure if you’re still looking for advice. I went from an 802D to 800D2 and they are quite different. Have you heard either speaker at a store so that you know their general sound signature?

If you plan to go with the original D series or older, also plan on using a lot of power to get the best out of them. The older they get the more power you can feed them. When they did the D2 version and changed the drivers they get better in the efficiency dept so amp pairing was easier.

And yes, the D2 versions sounded much better than the D versions (in my opinion)
