My main introduction to Flaco was through his work with Ry Cooder. In particular, the Chicken Skin Music LP. His playing brought so much to the music. He will be missed.
Bummer , he will be missed. I’m in central California and grew up with Bakersfield Country and he’s been a mainstay my whole life. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a home where everyone was into music. My father listened to everything from Merle Haggard to The Moody Blues. My mom played piano and her best friend worked at A&M Records in L.A. We listened to American , Greek, Spanish and there was always music playing. I remember when I was a kid we went out to dinner with friends that had a Greek band. One of the members was Cubby O’Brian from the Carpenters. I’m so grateful to have been exposed to all that music as it’s truly enriched my life. So a toast to Flaco ! You will be missed.
