Adding a Phoenix USB?? How much will I notice??

Hello AGon Experts!!

Currently using a Innuos ZEN Mk3 as my source out to a Denafrips Terminator II DAC and have a Luxman 509X Amplifier powering a pair of Legacy Audio Focus SE's.

Considering adding a Innuos Phoenix USB re-clocker to the system. Hearing conflicting opinions about how much of a difference it would make, and if it would even be that noticeable considering the higher level of components already in the system.

Any feedback or experience with adding the additional component is appreciated!

If I may suggest: start by getting the additional power supply; it should be a significant improvement. On USB try the Singxer UIP-1 Pro first. Same idea as Phoenix but a tenth of the price. The Phoenix has two main functions: reclocking the USB stream and eliminating ground bourne and EMI/RFI noise. How much of that is needed and consequently how big an input it has depends much on the design of the FACs USB connection: results vary greatly from one to the other DAC.

I did find a difference with it in my system but only after some time. Initially, I wasn’t overwhelmed but then after a few days I disconnected it and it was clear that there was an obvious difference in transparency. It was like clearing out my ears. I certainly think it’s worth the cost but I’m sure it’ll depend on your system. Ideally, see if you can trial one at home but you do need to give it a bit of time to get used to it (and to get things settled). Then disconnect it and see if there’s a difference for you. Good luck in your journey!.
