Great post. Indeed, it takes good sound up another level or two...excellence and more.
ADD/Powr just realeased a new product call the Powr Bar. It's a cool looking power strip with 8 Furutech gold sockets and ElectraClear circuitry (equivalent to 2 eau2s). Worth checking out and on sale for less than $500!

We have released a new product called ViviD to improve the quality of the video signal. It is an inline unit on the path for either coax or HDMI signals. Uses our proprietary ADD-Powr® harmonic boost technology to create more clarity and color enrichment on your viewing systems. A Vivid installed on the antenna input to a digital converter coupled with another HDMI unit on the streaming side is a major upgrade to signal quality!
|
I have purchased two of your Vivids and all I can say they are fantastic! I have one Coax on the input of my cable box and one from the HDMI output to my Sony 65”.
The picture has improved the Color, Brightness, Depth, Sound and Realism that it is so enjoyable to watch. I will not be sending mine back!
I would recommend this product to anyone that enjoys watching television!

I was a skeptic at first. Now I can say that the Vivid works as advertised. I purchased the coax version. It's hooked up to the antenna feeding the converter box which feeds my LG 55" OLED.
Indeed the change is quite acute: images are more dimensional, astonishing realism, greater color saturation and contrast, improved audio quality. Dialog is so easy to hear. Indeed it makes television viewing a very enjoyable and immersive experience!
@illusion I am thinking of purchasing the HDMI model.

bemused, there is NO doubt in my mind that you will be in awe with the Vivid HDMI version.
If you are using high end cables or not, this is a must have in your system.
It’s honestly a no brainer!

I already use the Symphony I/O which does wonders for my audio and video systems. I presently use i5create HDMI cables with Rokhu for streaming.
|
I just installed a Symphony O/I and I'm liking what it's done for my system. Sound is more relaxed, a little deeper soundstage with better separation. My system plays louder without any fatigue. It's definitely staying. I currently have it after my FMC converter, just before my streamer. The sound is so sweet, yet more tactile.

With my new vivid from ADD POWR I thought I would try a linear power supply by Ifi. It was a beautiful improvement to the picture and sound quality. There is nothing that I know of on the market that can compete with this device for the money.
Don’t miss out and just buy one and see for yourself!
|
I just ordered 2 HDMI and one coaxial unit.

Ozzy, You won’t be disappointed!
|
I already own a Symphony I/O unit, and the 8 outlet Powr Bar for my modem, EtherRegen and other etc. equipment.
So hopefully these additionally units will also help with my video system.

@ ozzy I purchased a second Vivid for HDMI on the Firestick out to the LG. Together with the coax antenna feed I am very impressed with the level of realism they provide!
|
I did purchase most of those items also Ozzy! Be on the lookout for Bill’s new Symphony I/O Deluxe unit coming out! It incorporates every type of digital input for Audio and Video all in one unit. It’s a must have for any Audio or Video home entertainment system!
Those Vivids will work great with your other components or even alone! You’re going to be shocked at the improvement! Much better than buying any expensive high end cable. People are using them on their projectors and finding a nice improvement.

So, I received the 3 units and can provide these comments.
The Coaxial unit does not work with my Satellite (Dish) (no signal) but does work with my outside antenna.
One of the HDMI units worked ok with my Satellite HDMI connection but not with my Oppo 205 HDMI connection. (No signal)
Where it works, it is impressive, but I am disappointed in its short comings. Bill from ADD POWR is aware and before I send the units back for refund, I am giving him a chance to rectify if possible. Maybe I will wait a week.
Disappointed also in the fact that he wants me to pay for return shipping. Not much money I guess but I already paid for the units shipping cost to me.

Ozzy did you discuss with Bill your application and what you were going to use these units on? The coax unit will not communicate directly with your satellite dish. It was never designed to do so! But from an OTA antenna or Cable box it works wonderful. With the HDMI unit your Oppo is now older technology and the cable in the vivid will pass the current cable spec’s for the newer tv demands. Finding a cable that will work with the old and the new is a nightmare. Why would you be disappointed in Bill because you need to pay return shipping when he gave you a major discount on your initial purchase! Bill will do everything in is power to make you happy and design a custom unit just for your situation. |
@ozzy The Vivid cannot yet handle satellite dish GiHz frequencies. This presents a challenge which I believe can be addressed successfully. Vivid can boost signals in the video range whether they be composite or component video. There may be an issue with the Oppo unit as the Vivid internal cable is compliant to HDMI 2.1:
48GBs, 8K@120 Hz 144Hz eARC HDR10 4:4:4 HDCP 2.3.
The (3) units were accorded at a deep discount along with a small ship charge. So I do not understand the complaint. Also, we are not an Amazon type seller that can take returns at no charge.
So, it is my hope that you will retain the use of the coax unit with the outside antenna and employ the HDMI unit for the satellite connection.
We cannot guarantee that the Vivids will work in every system. But presently the track record of Vivid and customer satisfaction is very high.

In response to your current statement.
1. The reason you finally agreed to the discount was because I was buying 3 units at the same time.
2. Somewhere on your website you should caution folks that it will not work with Satellite equipment.
3. Not sure why it does not work with an Oppo 205, many people probably have similar units.
4. And yeah, I believe if it does not work YOU should pay for the return shipping.

I found this on the internet about the Oppo HDMI output.
Oppo 205 VIDEO OUTPUT:
1x HDMI 2.0 w/HDCP 2.2
Yet, I am using an 8K HDMI cable successfully. (However, still won’t work with the Add Powr Vivid unit).
I must admit this is all confusing.

Ozzy if you’re willing you can try doing the following:
Take the vivid and run your cable that works with your Oppo and attach it along side the length of the vivid. You should see an improvement to the your video. Also use the provided power supply when putting this together. Give it 10 to 20 min. to do it’s thing.
It’s not going to be as good as going through the unit, but it will give you a sample of what it can do to your signal.
The cable used inside the vivid should have worked it is quite capable at 8k.

illusion,
I tried your suggestion and there was no improvement that I could tell.
You seem to be closely involved with the ADD POWR company, are you the spokesman?

Ozzy,
That is strange that you didn’t see an improvement! The vivid is very powerful even outside the unit it exudes so much energy. I take advantage of that energy by not only attaching my HDMI cable to the unit, I run power chord along side the vivid to my tv!
I’m just a user but a Professional Engineer by trade and an Audiophile by night. I was introduced to Bill by a reviewer at Axpona 2023. I’m not easily fooled by snake oil products. But Bill is doing something that no one is attempting to do. His technology stands alone. His Vivid product is being discovered all over the world. When he tells me we’re he is getting orders from it’s really amazing!
I’m sorry it didn’t work with your equipment but for most there should be no problem. I love the product so much I have them everywhere at home and at my summer home!

Satellite frequency range for tv use is the C band 3.7 - 4.2 GHz and the newer K range 18 - 27 GHz. Apparently Vivid is able to affect frequencies in the terrestrial tv range 43 - 216 MHz and 470 - 608 MHz. Perhaps down the road a device can be developed to address the higher frequencies.
Btw, I see that at their web site that there is a new product listed - Symphony I/O Deluxe. It does everything the I/O does plus HDMI and SPDIF signals.

So now that I have had an ADD POWR Vivid Coax, and one of the HDMI units for a few weeks, I think I can comment on the effectiveness of these units.
The video on my Samsung 85" is remarkable! It has really not only brightened the image but sharpened it and the colors are excellent! It is not a hyped-up contrast or sharp edge picture but is very natural. And strangely even though the Vivid coaxial unit is on my outside antenna, it is still plugged into my Satellite receiver and the video on the satellite reception has improved, huh?
My wife who rarely comments on my Audio/Video passion even has noticed the improvement.
I just wish Bill could make a coaxial unit that can be directly compatible with my Dish Satellite and a HDMI unit for my OPPO 205.
Highly recommended!
