Dear @dawkimi : Great 20.7 speakers and a lovely SA-1 that were my dream amplifiers in those times but I never had the kind of money to buy it.
Look. as you I'm a MUSIC lover and even that I own 6k+ LPs today the digital alternative is superior one to analog especially with the kind of analog rig you own. You can try it if you want it but if I was you ( that I don't. ) I will up grade that system adding a pair of self powered true subwoofers wired/connected in stereo fashion where those Maggies will run from 80hz ( high pass filter frequency. ) and up.
In that new room/system set-up the IMD of the 20.7's and THD of the whole system will goes way down and the overall system will shines as never before when you liberate the low bass range from the Maggies and this low bass range hadled by the specialist in that specific bass frequency range that are subwoofersl
Even that Magnepan does not specified the low bass crossover in the 20.7 " things " are that that appears that crossover filter it's around 400hz, to high.
No problem with blend subs with planar speakers and you can't lost nothing because you can always return to your original set up and in the other side you can " win " a lot of quality overall system level performance.
Regards and enjoy the MUSIC NOT DISTORTIONS,
R.
