A useful audio/video decoder: ffdshow
Hi all, I came across this piece of software, installed it and now using it WMP 11 and PowerDVD.

Nothing much to setup, but you can player around with the Audio and Video decoding options. Loaded automatically whenever I launch WMP or PowerDVD. The picture is much sharper, even though I'm using VGA output to 17" LCD monitor. Sound is little bit better, but hard to tell cause I'm using a pair of crappy Sony PC speakers. No external DAC, just using motherboard audio out. Let me know if you get better results using this.

You can download just about all the codecs from here Combined Community Codec Pack . I use these to play movies from all over the world. |
