Here's a couple of new ones..

"I know it's true
because I saw it on TV"

"trying to stop the bleeding
with scotch tape
platelets spoil adhesion
fire up the cauterizing iron"
One of mine was Robert Plant’s "Ship of Fools".

Always loved it and the whole lp is very good!

Have a great one!
"I don't keep liquor here
never cared for wine or beer
and working for the county keeps me pissing clear
these nights are dry as dust
but I'm letting my eyes adjust..."
"and what have you got
at the end of the day?
what have you got, to take away?
a bottle of whiskey and a new set of lies
blinds on the window and a pain behind the eyes"...
"then came the mines
then came the ore
then there was the hard times
then there was a war".........
"misery is summers' day
only find it slips away...to grey
how's it bring her pain

thinking how it use to be
does she still remember times like these
to think of us again..
and I do..."
"I am a tough ball of twine
I had a duty to do
I been tied to the table
but now I am frazzled and aloof

acorn squash and a hearty rows of okra
strand of sweet corn by the trickling creek
winter dead that was buried ’neath
the pole - beans
behold! a sink hole in the spring"...

If anyone figures it out...put it on and turn it up!
"on waves of love my heart is breaking
stranger still my self-control, I can't rely on anymore
new tides surprise, my word it's changing
within this frame, an ocean swells
behind this smile, I know it well.

beneath a lover's moon - I'm waiting
I am the pilot of this storm
adrift in pleasure - I may drown
I built this ship it is my making
and further more my self - control
I can't rely on anymore

you claim that no man is an island
while I land up in jeopardy
more distant from you by degrees
I walk this shore in isolation
and at my feet eternity
lays ever sweet plans for me"...
rcprince,

No, I could not but it seems rpeluso did.

(I had just watched "The Graduate" again recently).

jafant,

"That Smell"

audionoobie,

"Boys of Summer" ....has always been an ultimate (road trip song) for me.
"your six blade knife can do anything for you
anything you want it to
one blade for breaking my heart
one blade for tearing me apart
you're six blade knife- do anything for you"

boxer12,

Can't think of yours. Interested in the origin.
mofimadness, you got em’!

These lyrics just have a lot of meaning for me. Any day I can listen to good music is a good day. Something about Sundays I get in a more reflective mood. I can only assume since you seem to have immediately recognized these lyrics, they made an impression on you as well. This was kind of my reason for the thread.

.."I sit on the cornerstones
count the time in quarter tones till ten
my friend
please don't confront me
with my failure..
I'm aware of them"

"Molly went to Arkansas
and got raped by Dobbin's dog
well she was doing good
till she went in the woods
and got pinned up against a log"

"They gave me a useless education
and a sub-prime loan on a craftsman home
keep my prescription filled
and now I can’t get off
but I can kind of deal
with being"

mofimadness got it!

"Laughing on the bus
playing games with the faces,
She said the man in the gabardine suit was a spy,
I said be careful
his bow tie is really a camera.."
"fat man sitting on a little stool
takes the money from my hand while his eyes
take a walk all over you"

boxer12,
Kind of dark. Is it Greg Dulli?
