suggest an under $2000 amp to match 4ohm speakers
I have *just* purchased the CJ MF-2500-A that's listed here right now.I was in a local shop last weekend though, and I heard the Mozart Grands being pushed with some McIntosh gear and they sounded lovely. Mc stuff is *not* in the <2k range, but...
Preamp with requirements 'from scratch' rig
Thanks Heyraz. I decided to go the CJ route, and we're going to go Paradigm speakers. I'll post a Virtual System when it's complete.
Preamp with requirements 'from scratch' rig
I'll ask a more specific question, based on seeing a couple of ads today here on A'gon. Can anyone tell me (in generalities, of course) what the sound would be like with the CJ PV-15 paired with a CJ MF-2500-A?Awful good deal on those two pieces he...
Sonos to Amp - is simplicity better?
I'm building a new system for 2-channel, but already have 4 Sonos zones. I'll be trying this test myself, into a new preamp and direct into an amp. I'll try to remember to post my opinions here.
Which Amp/Pre-Amp combo with the Focal 826ws?
Historically JM Labs have been very synergistic with YBA gear (this is solid state). Some years ago, I heard the JM Labs Electra line amplified with a YBA Passion Integre, and it was heavenly. I couldn't afford those pieces, and went with JM Labs' ...

Dark Day For Hands On Music-Movie Buyers
I'm one of the lucky ones: I've got Amoeba Records on the corner of Highland and Sunset. It's a music lover's paradise.Z
Focal or Blaupunkt
Never heard of DLS, but I do know Morel. The higher end Morel's are really nice, but I would still prefer a Focal setup with good amplification - keep in mind though that I also have JM Labs speakers at home so you know where my loyalties are.Z
Focal or Blaupunkt
I agree...the Focal is a great speaker for the car. I heard a setup last year where a truck had focal speakers powered by McIntosh. It was great until you factor in road noise...My brother-in-law also has Focal speakers in his truck. He powers the...
Apple Boot Camp in public beta today
We have just gone through this at work. Granted, I am a System Administrator, but I didn't even have to read any instructions. First off, there is a firmware update you need to install.Second, if you have partitioned your drive up, Boot Camp will ...
Any John Hartford fans?
I remember when I was really little my Dad took me to the Strawberry Festival in Yosemite. He was one of the headliners, and he signed one of my Dad's albums for me - I don't remember which one it was though. I remember him as a really funny guy.

Audiophile Music Cd's besides Baby Einstein?
My daughter is 6 months old now. Alison Krauss is her favorite. Mom and I wonder if it's 'cause of how much we played the 2 disc live albume when she was in the womb. No matter how crabby or tired she is, if we put the concert DVD on - man it's li...
Would Audiogoners be interested in this?
