Walsh Ohm 100 MKII; anybody owned these?
Glitch, are you running the Ohms with your Unico? I'm interested in one of those amps, but I'm not sure how it will sound with the Ohms. One of my favorite reveiwer's description of the Ohms is the fact that they "energize the room", which sums up...

DeVore Fidelity Gibbon 3.

I'm going to give a call over there too. I have a pair of MicroWalsh Talls, and I was wondering if the upgrades are only for the larger models.I'm running mine with an old McIntosh MA6200 and the sound is pretty amazing. I'm thinking of experiment...
Move to NYC Apt -- Vandersteen 3A Speaker Woes
The cool thing about NYC, is you can head out your door and hear the real thing at a club, or some other venue. I've been wanting a pair of Vandys, but just haven't had the room, so I went with Ohm Walshes - no shipping, I picked 'em up in Brookly...
Short floorstanders?

Vandersteen's Low Spousal Acceptance Factor
That's great, I'm glad it worked out for you. A harmonious home with great music! Glad you didn't trade your wife for a pair of speakers.
Paradigm Studio v2 VS. Vandersteen 2Ce Signature ?
"90% of the speakers out there are bright." Totally agree - Paradigm and others rely on hyping frequencies to make up for a common design. Band-Aids.
Looking for the king of mini monitors under $1500
I have a three year old pair of Sequerra Met 7's that I use for work everyday. One of the best "studio" monitors that I've ever heard. Simple, time coherent design.
Vandersteen's Low Spousal Acceptance Factor
Congrats on the Kestrels. Did you show her a picture? I've seen the Shearwaters in person, and they look better than in the pix - definitely better than Vandys. Of course, the Kestrel 2s were probably the best choice. Hope you guys like 'em.
totem arro or rainmaker or von schweikert vr1
I would say the Arros, but in the tradition of multiple choice thread suggestions, I'll mention something not on your list: Ohm MicroWalsh Talls. They're about 1K, but I'm sure you can find a great used Integrated for $500 and you'll have an outst...
Vandersteen's Low Spousal Acceptance Factor
I would suggest Shearwater Hotrods - I don't know if it's Italian Rosewood :), but there's a Rosewood model available for 1500-. Those are great speakers - I like the older, "classic" Meadowlarks.
Vandersteen's Low Spousal Acceptance Factor
Try for a pair of Meadowlark Kestrel 2s - factory liquidation, they're about half price right now.
How would you desribe Von Schweiket VR-4jr sound?
Newbee, thanks for refering to the "truth" thread - I meant to get to that.
How would you desribe Von Schweiket VR-4jr sound?
Since we've veered off a little bit here, I decided to reread the original post. I'm under the auditioner category and this sums up my experience: I found the 4jrs to be involving (which is a good thing, I wasn't looking around the room or checkin...
