Best "RedBook" player out there
Look no further!  Dynastation Dynavox 2.  You will Not Be Disappointed!!
Who listens primarily to Redbook CD?
Tommylion....audionote dac are extremely musical, you should upgrade it to the 4.1balanced better than the 3.1, by a Big Margin.  Separates are nice to have but without the right digital cables it can make or break a system.   Do yourself a favor ...
Converting Solid State to Tube Rectification on a Preamp
Imfihifan... thanks for the awesome link. if i decided to do just a half wave rectifier using a single tube 6x5, is that possible?   Also, with the secondary measure at 350v, that is more than enough for a single 6x5 plate voltage?
Converting Solid State to Tube Rectification on a Preamp
czarivey... so from your experiences, with triode rect., it sounds better than a solid state rectifier?  I think Viva amps has two 211 or 845 as rectifier.   Talking about blowing crazy money, that is just be-on my league!
Converting Solid State to Tube Rectification on a Preamp
Imhififan... the voltage on the secondary power transformer is around say 350v.   As an option on this preamp; Blue circle website do sell a separate power supply, pretty sure it will work with my preamp.  But i do not want to take that route.  wh...
Converting Solid State to Tube Rectification on a Preamp
Rodman.... currently on the preamp I have a Schottky Diode 10120a from Cree/Wofspeed.   To me it's the best custom bridge Rectifier that i have try so far.   The Schottky outperformed the Vishay Hexfred ( ultra fast, ultra soft).
Converting Solid State to Tube Rectification on a Preamp
I have a Blue Circle 21 preamp. Output tubes are 6sn7 with a solid state bridge rectifier. I want to replace that solid state bridge rectifier with a tube say 6x5. I will be using the existing 6v for the heater or running on battery for the heater...

Dac: Does anyhting beat the Schiit Gungnir Multibit (Gumby) in the same price range?
You can't beat the unit at the asking price.  You for sure can improve the dac chip.  I believe Analog Devices makes an improve version of this dac chip ( you have to check, i might be wrong). But doesn't hurt to check?  If the dac chip has an ada...
Very Bad purchase from upscale audio Acoustic Zen Adagio
about 25+ years at Audiogon, I am so glad that the truth comes out about Upscales Audio and Mr. Deal.    He is one Redneck Asshole, disrespectful and extremely racist person!
Luxman CL34: How does it compare today?
Really excellent made preamp, i believe the cl35 was for North American and the cl34 was for Asia ( could be vice vera).  Nicely built, excellent quality, very warm sounding.    I own a cl35 with a step volume control, imh it was better than the c...
Very Bad purchase from upscale audio Acoustic Zen Adagio
from my experiences and knowledge; one speaker apparently was exposed to sunlight. Looking from these pixs ( worked on car paint and finished clear coat). from my very own eyes, yes they do look different,  both speakers are not a matched pair.   ...
Very Bad purchase from upscale audio Acoustic Zen Adagio
Trust me i dealt with him before,  TMF is a racist!!  He would say things to get a sales, once you take that bite, good luck in finding that redneck for a refund.   I once got bitten by him it left a bad impression on his business.  Never again wo...
