Audience vs shunyata line conditioners I have owned both (Shunyata Hydra 6) and currently have the Audience Arp2-TO. I can't speak to the newer Shunyata model power conditioners but the Hydra was an eye opener (ear opener) when I first installed it in my system. The unit quited the bac...
How are Crimson cables Never owned them but I did demo them. Great bargain for the price, transparent and revealing. My only critique would be on their construction quality. But at that price, you can't have everything.

Which integrated tube amp to go with which speaker I recently switched over to a Primaluna Dialogue Premium with Reference 3a Veena speakers. My system has never sounded better. I'm running the Primaluna with KT-120 which give a great full sound and the biggest soundstage I ever had. The autobias ...
Hot Tuna They are constantly on tour. My Hot Tuna days date back to the mid 70's at the Academy of Music, NYC. Midnight shows that lasted 5 hours. You felt beat up by Jack's base by the morning. Have seen them dozens of times since both acoustic and electr...

Isolation under Berkeley DAC2 Hands down Nordost Sort Kones. Go for the BC model, best bang for the buck.
CD player with XLR's and volume control ? Bel Canto CD-2 if you can find one. Probably at the higher end of your budget.
Food or beryllium tweeters for my DeCapo's Hey Decap lovers, I own a pair of Ref3a Veena (love them). I am seriously thinking of having them upgraded by Tash. Any feedback?
Bands where U say Little Feat, they were just hitting they're stride when Lowell passed. He was one of the great white bluesman and more than respectable slide guitar player. Waiting for Columbus reminds me of what they could have been. The band had incredible ener...

What's your favorite lyric from a song? "'My daddy was no jockey, but he taught me how to ride" Kansas City David Bromberg version
RIP Richie Havens Saw him a couple of years ago in a small club in Cambridge, MA. What an incredible stage presence and energy. He broke a string on his Guild and switched to another one with out missing a beat. A very special musician. He will be greatly missed.
marantz integrated I recently sold my Portal Panache integrated. Great amp., spectacular mid range very natural sounding. Built like a tank. If you can find one used, should go for $8-900. Good luck. |
