Ortofon Per Windfeld Load Impedance?
I can defer to J and Atmas for now... And the Hagerman guy too!
Ortofon Per Windfeld Load Impedance?
Thank You J. The whole idea behind these forums T is to assist folks like you in getting up to speed. Thanks to you again, J.
Ortofon Per Windfeld Load Impedance?
I remember promising Fail entertainment value... T, don't mess with my Triplanar buddies...
Vinyl on the Radio
It is really great to see (hear) this come full circle. College stations all over are starting again. Yippee!

In this one instance, Viridian is accurate.
Ortofon Per Windfeld Load Impedance?
No, I am not kidding. Figured he had some other wonderful reason for the name. I wouldn't think principals of anything but garage companies would contribute here. My goof. So T is this pre in the same league as your buddy Raul's? Same performance ...
Ortofon Per Windfeld Load Impedance?
OK, If you're a triplanar fan you must have something going on upstairs. Tri has explained this issue to me in person. Including the limited choices in arm wire. So what is the brand name of this pre?

Amplitude, surely you lose more than just amplitude at longer lengths?
Ortofon Per Windfeld Load Impedance?
Independent of length? How come some cable mfgrs change geometry at different lengths in the same model? Res, cap, and ind, are per foot or whatever measure, yes? Surely you lose more than volume (not the word I want) as length increases, particul...
BAT Vk-51 SE vs Aesthetix Calypso
Bill, In addition to better bass, you will also get a lower noise floor with the BAT. This equates to better low level detail. Both freq extremes will be better. Fremer and Harley rave about both, go figure...
Siltech or Tara Labs GamuT
Dk, you will need to go much higher up the Siltech line to compete with The One. Think G6 conductor.
Pro and cons of running power amp in 240 V
Solo, there are several advantages. An amp that requires the current, gets it. Two phase is balanced and so is much quieter. I have several Krell amps I had built this way. Are you sure your switch options are both 60hz? I doubt it.
Repair Reliability?
Oh yeah. The opposite happens as well. You send in the broken unit and it comes back perfect. The shop notes read "no trouble found". Who are they trying to kid?
Ortofon Per Windfeld Load Impedance?
HUH? I have installed higher performing phono cables that allowed a lower input impedance. I find that very low output MCs like to see a lower load. Lots of discussion on other sites got me to try it. Makes sense. I don't recommend long phono lead...

Duh... By ear? By utilizing the MFGRs recommended starting points? By posting for advice on audiophile forums?
