Review: NAD m51 DA converter Can you please confirm if you were using the built in volume control of the M51 or you had a separate PreAmp. And if you are, then did you have chance to compare it with a dedicated premap?I currently have the Rega Dac, which I really like but I a...
Yamamoto YDA 01 DAC Staehli,Thanks for your initial impressions. I am looking to your detailed comparison to the benchmark. You may want to start a seperate thread for this.I used to have Benchmark and replaced it with Rega DAC, which I like better. So I'll be curiou...
ProAc or Harbeths? I vote for the D38. I had them in my main system for the last 5 years and it is the one equipment that I have no desire to replace. I am currently using them with the AR LS26/VS60.However, I am curious to know how does the newer D38R or Carbon 6 c...
Audio Research VSi60 int amp OR LS17+VS60 Thanks for your response. They are 4 ohms and 90db @dB/1w@1m. I am hopping that the VS60 50 Watts per channel would be enough. Alternatively I can find the 100.2 or 150.2 in the used market
CAYIN A-100T VS. Mcintosh MA 2275 I am also using the Cayin A-100T with the ProAcs. I had the A-88T before and then upgraded to the A-100T. I did not compare with the Macs but I am very happy with the sound. I matches very well with the ProAcs.
Proac D38, Wilson Sophia II, Avalon Ascendant??? I can only say that the improvement was in the total presentation and I agree with Amfibius that it sounds more dynamic and yet very musical. When I evaluate speakers I do not really want to concentrate on any individual aspect of speakers. Its th...
Proac D38, Wilson Sophia II, Avalon Ascendant??? I have always been a fan of Proac, ever since the Response 2.5 came out. I think they are a wonderful speakers. Yes I have compared it to others but I always came back to wanting to own the Proacs. There is something about them they always makes y...
Which Proac would sound better I have the Proac D38 and love them. I compared it to many speakers including the B&W N804s and N803S. I have always liked the Proac sounds would not replace it with anything else.If your budget is $5-8K then I would seriously look at the D38. ...
The best speaker you ever heard? Proac D38. Or other Proac models (D25, Studio 140) depending on your budget. Very very musical speakers. Makes you want to listen to music.
Best speakers for Primaluna Dialouge 2 "TUBES" I highly recommend giving Proac D25 or D38 a listen. It sounds amazing with the tube amps.
Proac 3.8 = Proac 50 Sig + Proac ER1 Sub? I am not a fan of bookshelf speakers. Unless you need to put them, as the name implies, in a bookshelf! Most of the people put the bookshelf/monitor speakers on a stand so I do not understand the logic (unless its for aesthetic purpose or you do n...
Replacement for Proac Response 3's I agree with Dodgealum. I would highly recommend the D38. They are a wonderfull speakers, very musucal and involving. I have them very close (16 inches) to the wall right now due to the space constraint. And they sound great.Another point, you do ...
Cayin A88T break in and biasing?? I just want to clarify some biasing issue with A-88T. Its true that A-88T is not auto-biasing and if you want to re-bias then you would have to flip/open/bias and put it back together. However, it is my understanding that you do not really need to...
ProAc Studio 140 for music and HT? I would suggests the Proac 140. Very musical speakers and will work well for the HT too, although I did not really audition it as part of the HT.I compared it with the D25 and the differeance was not that much considering that D25 are almost twice. |
