CJ's preamps still have warmth to them. My CT6 is very satisfying, and the CT5 is the next step up and a world class product.

Saxo, I used the Acoustic Zen Matrix in the past, and thought it a good cable, but moved on to other things, so I couldn't comment on it now. I certainly have found that interconnects make a huge difference in the ultimate sound.

Update....Silly me. I thought I had burned in the CT6, but I had mistakenly connected the CD player (on repeat) to the tuner input (next to CD input). But I had the preamp source selector to CD, so the net result was that no signal was passing thr...

Unfortunately, a lot of parts in SFequipment went bad. I don't know why, since they used lots of quality components. Perhaps it was the circuit design. As much as I loved the SF stuff, so gorgeous and heavy, this is the reason I don't and won't ow...
